“Holding on disrupts the balance of ease and flow that brings to mind the new thoughts, the new feeling state and certainly all of what comes next.” — dorothy ratusny
When you hold on too tightly you can create tension and the lack of flow that needs to enter your life.
Think of anything that you need to let go of as significant; as what it would mean if you held your breath.
After a time it would begin to feel uncomfortable and as much as holding breath can expand our lungs and train our body to replenish oxygen and be a part of a relaxation practice, we are never holding breath for too long. Long enough and then to release it into the next ‘in breath’.
In life and for any situation it is the same. You may hold onto an experience, a memory, a fear, a thought – for as long as it serves a purpose for you to do so and then you need to let go of what you hold to allow for the next, the new, the difficult and in some cases the relaxation, and the healing and feeling of wholeness.
Give permission to ease yourself into the next moment and for what is waiting.
It’s not to forget nor ignore when you place your focus on letting go; is for opening the space here and in the presence of now to allow in to your life what is waiting; what will be the perfect practice of allowing and releasing, of ebb and flow – of the certainty that finds you here;
…that leads you into the space and breath of your next moment.
What specifically helps and that I share with clients is the practice of ‘letting go’ of whatever you’ve been holding onto often throughout your day and especially in the challenging moments; and whenever you feel out of balance or anxious.
As you release the energy of whatever you do not need with your out breath, or as you imagine releasing whatever problems, stress or challenging situation for now, together with the gratitude for making space to receive your right answers, new empowering and uplifting thought and the way in which you want to feel instead.
Letting go is the precursor to relief, calm, peace and the beginning of joy.
