DorothyRatusny.com collects information from all website visitors using analytics / statistics tools. We collect information on website traffic; for example, which pages visitors access or visit. This information includes, but is not limited to; date and time of visit, browser name and version and referring website, and is used for evaluating and further developing the site. No personal data is collected in this way.

The statistical and analytics derived metrics and information we collect is used for internal review and to improve the content of our website and service offerings. The forms on this website “Contact form” and “free discovery session” form – require you to enter “Personal information”. Personal information includes, but is not limited to, name, telephone number, and email address and information regarding your healthcare history and experience and/or Personal information that identifies your interest in a particular service.  The “Discovery Session” form requests information relative to a Client or Potential Client’s current status, this information is collected to ascertain and deliver individualized and optimal recommendations with regards to a Client’s potential care and Recommended Services. This data is only accessed by Licensed Professional Provider ( Dorothy Ratusny ) and is considered confidential and sensitive and treated with care.

All Contact form details such as email addresses, names and phone numbers are used exclusively by Dorothy Ratusny to provide you with information and materials as requested.

Confidentiality ( Sessions )

All personal data collected during your therapy session(s) is kept confidential according to the requirements of current Canadian legislation. Personal information is not disclosed to any other third parties except if specifically requested by yourself or required by law (please see the exceptions in paragraph 1 and 2, below):

1. Dorothy Ratusny is legally obligated to report to authorities any information that suggests that a child has been, is currently, or potentially being harmed. Harm can be physical, sexual, emotional, or threatened. Dorothy Ratusny is also legally required to disclose any information that suggests that a client is a danger to themselves or others. In addition, Dorothy Ratusny has a legal duty to inform any potential victims, should a client threaten them during a therapy session, any verbal or written correspondence, or other communications.
2. If a client is in litigation, there is a possibility that their therapy file may be subpoenaed.

Secure Access

With regards to privacy and confidentiality for services delivered digitally “ Lifelines”, “Truth Serum,” “Micro-Sessions” or “The Inner Journey Sessions”  –  i.e. online and over communication mediums such as Skype or Gmail – It is the Client’s responsibility to select a secure connection and/or a private place for any sessions that are delivered outside of the Provider’s office.

The Client acknowledges that the use of public Wi-Fi hotspots may not provide optimal security and therefore may also not be considered wholly private. The Client / User acknowledges that Dorothy Ratusny has no liability with regards to the security of a Client’s internet access.
