The Pre-Experience to Meditation begins here…
Before teaching meditation, I ask clients to take a moment to experience what it feels like to hold awareness within their body; to be an observer as they close their eyes and as they place one hand onto their chest (over their heart centre) and the other hand onto their belly.
This brief, yet powerful awakening is forever imprinted. For some, this is a first means of experiencing what is happening inside the body. It is an opening onto another world – a kingdom – a vast oasis of exploration that they may have never fully experienced until now.
This awareness practice is taught for one’s self, separate from the first experience of meditation; and yet for those who have lived in separation from their body; this practice offers grounding and presence in one’s being; something that we are innately responsible for and of which reinforces the ever-present occurrence of wholeness.

Even if you are masterful in meditation, it is worth opening yourself to this experience of pure insight and awareness. Through it you learn how to harmonize with your body; you remember your oneness with it; and you are witness to its magnificence.
As you experience this offering of pure awareness and insight, remember that its purpose is to draw you in; to give you more tools for deliberate presence, and for reminding you of the perfection of your body’s wisdom, as your body is always seeking to nourish and restore balance. Let your mind and heart be open to what you witness; then carefree, peaceful, and of this state of oneness. Namaste!! xo
